Flexible Mounting Options
The rugged 6550 computer can be used in applications ranging from data collection, inventory control, cross-docking, manufacturing station, and material handling. The 6550 computer may be mounted on mobile forklifts, lift carts and holsters and even fixed cross-dock doors and manufacturing stations. Various mounting bracket options provide the flexibility required to mount the 6550 computer almost anywhere.
Large, Easy-to-Read Display
The 10.4" display is easy-to-read from almost any distance and angle. The standard electro luminescent display is bright with high contrast and visibility from many extreme viewing angles. And the optional color display offers bright, sharp colors to create definition between objects on the screen, especially for a Windows* application.
Graphical User Interface
Through the use of the graphical user interface (GUI), the 6550 computer demonstrates the power that a standard PC can bring to the operator. The user can intuitively recognize and derive meaning from icons and pictures on the screen. This application design philosophy is far superior to character-based when it comes to ease-of-operation and simplicity of use for the worker.
Network Systems
The 6550 computer can be a PC client in a client/server application. It can be connected to a network through either a 2.4 GHz wireless radio or hardwired with either Ethernet or token ring. These options allow the user to make the best communications decision for his/her operation. In addition, the terminal can run "plug-and-play" Intermec terminal emulation including VT220, 3270, SNA and Norand Native Mode. It integrates with networks operating SNA, Async and TCP/IP. MS-DOS* 6.22 is a standard factory loaded option.
